Father's Day Cheese Selection
250g Ditcheat Hill Cheddar: This unpasteurised and vegetarian cheese is made in Somerset at Ditcheat Hill near Glastonbury. The milk comes from the family Green’s pedigree Friesian herd cows. The cheddar that results is at 14 months both tangy and moist, with a real herbaceous aroma and flavour. The Green’s have been making cheddar in Somerset for over 100 years.
250g Reypenaer Gouda V.S.O.P. The temperature and humidity of the Wijngaard maturing house improves the aroma, taste and texture of the Reypenaer as it ages. The result is the two year old VSOP. This cow’s milk pasteurised Gouda is rich, smooth with a crystalline texture caused by the moisture loss. At two years the cheese has lost a quarter of is original weight. The flavour is intense, complex and well balanced.
250g Quenby Hall Stilton: Quenby Hall Stilton was established in 2005 but cheese was originally made on the estate as far back as the 17th Century. After two years of experimentation and development, Sarah and John are now producing a Stilton that is creamy and delicate with a subtle but rich taste of blue and with none of the bitterness sometimes associated with mature Stilton. Using milk from neighbouring farms, Sarah makes cheese in the traditional fashion. One of the most important aspects of this is the hand ladling of the curd from one vat to another. By handling the curds very gently, Sarah is able to produce Stilton with a rich, creamy texture.

Gooseberry Fruit for cheese 113g - A sweet accompaniment for aged Goudas and hard-pressed cheeses like Comte and Beaufort.
