AMBIENCE Comfortable but a bit clinical. Staff wearing all-black suits and headsets gave it a futuristic feel.

EXPERIENCE Staff spoke in hushed tones. I had an OK oxygen facial — where pores are piped with oxygen — and a Swedish back massage that was so soothing I nearly dribbled through the hole in the massage table.

FOOD No food, just endless free spiced tea and water.

IN CROWD Although Brighton can be synonymous with piercings and sandals, I was among fashionable, well-groomed ladies — Cate Blanchett is rumoured to be a regular.

WALLET WATCH £27 for a half-hour massage and £65 for the facial.
