EARL CADOGAN and FAMILY

11 £1,425m Property

Duke of York's Square, a mix of homes, shops and offices on the 10.5-acre site of an old army barracks, opened last month - marking a milestone in the development of the Cadogan Estate in London. More than 200 years ago it was sold by the estate to the government, and in 1999 it was bought back for £66m. The estate now covers more than 1,000 acres of Chelsea and the 2002 accounts for Cadogan Group show just how valuable it is, with net assets climbing to £1,282m. We value it on this figure. Cadogan, 66, and his family also have private estates and other assets.
