Philippe Foriel-Destezet

19 £1,310m Recruitment services

French entrepreneur Foriel-Destezet, 68, will find out on Tuesday how bad things have become at Adecco, the world's largest job agency, which he co-founded in 1996. Its 2003 annual report will be nearly two months late because the accountants demanded more time to make "further detailed analysis". Foriel-Destezet, who lives in London, is now a non-executive director of the company, although he retains an 18.3% holding. Adecco's shares fell in January on news of the accountants' concerns but then recovered, valuing Foriel-Destezet's stake at £1.04 billion. He has sold shares worth more than £130m in recent years, has a £93m stake in Securitas, the Swedish security giant, an interest in a Danish cleaning group and homes in Britain and France.
