Sir Alan Sugar

45 £703m Computers

City sceptics doubted whether Sugar's e-m@iler, a phone with e-mail, would sell. But in February he revealed it had made £1m profit for Amstrad in 2003-04 and has 1m users. Sugar, 57, built up Amstrad, the Essex consumer electronics group, and has a £41m stake via Amshold Group, which also owns the £85m Viglen computer firm. He also has £427m in property. His homes and £150m cash take him to £703m.
