| Business is booming for Grovit, 62, despite the introduction of the euro. The founder of the Chequepoint foreign exchange company has seen a small contraction of work in Europe but expansion in the rest of the world. By the late 1980s Chequepoint was making yearly profits of more than £5m on sales of £200m-plus. His main holding at the time - Inver Trust Corporation - had £270m net assets. Since then he has expanded into a range of new ventures and has a number of properties.
