| Edmiston, 57, is giving £2m to a new school for disadvantaged children in Solihull. On the business front his Birmingham-based IM Group made £14.6m profit on £269m sales in 2002, but that was after Edmiston took £12m salary. IM Group is one of Britain's biggest importers of cars from the Far East with franchises for Subaru, Isuzu and Daihatsu. We value the company at £200m, slightly above its £192m net asset figure. The group also has a 75% stake in the Funding Corporation, which provides lending services to organisations such as Diners Club. The separate IM Properties adds a further £122m of net assets. Edmiston, who started work as a bank clerk, owns both. Because he has put £63m into his charity, Christian Vision, we add only £30m for past salaries and his pension fund.
