| Brownsword, 56, who sold his Bath-based greetings card company for £165m in 1994, is making his mark in the hotel world with the acquisition of his third property, the Royal Clarence in Exeter, last November. He is best known, though, for owning 97% of Bath rugby club which recorded a £21,000 loss on £6.1m sales in 2002-03. Other assets keep Brownsword close to his 2003 figure.
