| Tindle, 77, went into publishing with £300 back pay from the army and started the Tooting & Balham Gazette in the 1960s. His Surrey-based Tindle Newspapers has more than 150 local titles, continues to add new ones, and is worth about £150m. A clutch of radio stations and other assets add £25m to his wealth.
