| The Aga Khan, 69, is planning to build a £52m five-star hotel in Afghanistan, where he believes the tourist industry will help the country recover from more than 25 years of warfare. His business interests include an airline, a newspaper, hotels, factories and 43 prayer and business centres in Britain. A British citizen, the Aga Khans personal assets include 600 racehorses, three jets, several yachts, homes on five continents and a collection of jewels and antiques. He is facing divorce from his second wife, the Begum Inaara Khan, a German-born former pop singer. She is reckoned to be after up to half his fortune and may go through the courts to try to get it. Until that matter is settled, we leave him at £1,250m. |
