| Last September the Pears family, led by Mark, 43, paid £300m to take over the 50% stake it did not ownin the venture company Telereal, which ran an extensive property portfolio. Mark is managing director of the family’s main company, William Pears Family Holdings, but there are at least 44 separate companies that showed profits of £85m and net assets of £506m in 2004-05. The holdings outside Telereal are worth £750m and we value the stake in Telereal at £300m. We raise our valuation to £1,150m after tax. |
