| Dyson, 58, cant win em all. Last year he abandoned his loss-making Contrarotator washing machine, but sales of his bagless vacuum cleaner boosted 2004 profits at James Dyson Ltd from £39.6m to £78.9m. Adding Dysons £21.8m salary takes the profits to £100m. With the switch to lower production costs in Malaysia and sales booming in America they quadrupled to £162m in 2004 we value the business at £1 billion. Dyson owns it all. Past salaries and property assets such as his Gloucestershire mansion should add at least £50m. Dysons charitable foundation has given away more than £500,000 in the past year. |
