Although Heineken is Dutch, its biggest shareholder lives in Britain. Charlene de Carvalho, 52, is the only daughter of the brewers former head Freddy Heineken, who died in 2002. She lives in London with her banker husband, Michel, 62, and the family controls the firm. In 2006, Heineken saw profits up 10.7%, pushing the family stake to £2.9 billion. There are other assets.
