For 25 years, British-born accountant Parker added to his stake in the Hong Kong-based Duty Free Shoppers chain where he was a key executive. When the business was taken over in 1997, he made about £464m for his 20% stake. Parker, 67, who lives in Geneva, has set up the Oak Foundation, which helps humanitarian projects in Africa. He also supports medical research and helps victims of torture. With other assets and after his charitable giving, we agree with Bilan, the Swiss magazine, which values Parker at £1.25 billion.
