Kevin and Michael Lagan

Kevin Lagan, 57, and brother Michael, 51, run the Belfast-based Lagan Group construction firm, which their father founded in 1960. They have expanded into property, waste management, cement and quarrying. Operations in Ireland, the UK, the Isle of Man and the Caribbean are on track for about £50m profit in 2006-07. Quarrying assets, which represent a quarter of a business cashing in on the property boom, are worth about £232m.
