Take a trip to New York and see the city from the air

Are you ready for some more Girl Power? All five Spice Girls appeared in public together for the first time in six years today as they announced an 11-date, eight-country world tour.
The tour will take in the USA, Britain, Germany, Spain, China, Australia, South Africa and Argentina. To register for tickets go to www.thespicegirls.com
Straddling Christmas, the tour will begin in Posh Spice Victoria Beckham’s new home Los Angeles on December 7, before visiting Las Vegas, New York City, London, Cologne, Madrid, Beijing, Hong Kong, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires.
They will appear in London on December 15. Extra dates may be added.
The Nineties girl group, who parted ways in 2001, said they would not be performing at this weekend's Concert for Diana.
Princes William and Harry were said to have asked them to attend the anniversary event but the band said they could not take to the stage so soon because Baby Spice Emma Bunton is heavily pregnant.
Melanie Chisholm said: "We would have loved to be there this weekend. It's just unfortunate timing."
At a packed press conference at London’s 02 arena, formerly the Millennium Dome, the band were introduced by “Old Spice” Richard E Grant, who promised that the Spice Girls would “bring some colour back to your lives.”
In a typically tongue-in-cheek half hour of banter with the press, the band promised a tour featuring “five girls, lights, dancing, the dark side of the Spice Girls and topless dancing”.
The group stressed that unlike Take That, their comeback tour show will be truly international.
“The thing that was different about the Spice Girls is that we were truly global” said Chisholm.
Looking relaxed and clearly enjoying themselves enormously, there were few signs of tension until Geri Halliwell promised to be “on my best behaviour” and Beckham responded with a heavily loaded “or else”.

So many of my friends are happy to hear they are back. I hope they come to New York City so my friends and I can see them live!!
Alyssa, N.Y.C., New York, USA
Please come to Paris,Texas.Or at least come to Texas. I haven't listened to you guys in years until one day back about 5 years on tv I saw Mtv News talking about the Spice Girls. I had forgotten all about the band I used to listen to when I was young. I was Born in 1993 so I wasn't old enough to listen to you all till I was like 5 years old. The last time I think I listened to your songs was in 1998 and I had to leave my hometown. All I remember is listening to "Wannabe" and doing a cartwheel in the middle of the street. But those 5 years ago I started looking up things about the Spice Girls. I found out that the band had broke up in 2001, I was a year too late. But now you have reunited and I just want to really see you in person.
Brianna, Paris, Texas

How much do the tickets cost?

Henry Percy, London, UK

erin, orange county, usa/ cali
Spice Girls - Man. United - Real Madrid - Los Angeles. Moderate talent prevails over media image. No wonder Becks walked out last in line for England.
Howard Broadwell, Nottingham, England
So what if they are doing it for the money? Like any of you critics would say no to 10million?
I think they are awesome. The Spice phenomenom wasn't just about singing and talent anyway it was way of life! Girl Power! Ive loved them since I was 13 years old and I grew up strong believeing I can do anything I put my mind to. The Spice Girls taught me that! Apart from that they are fun and they were HUGE back then so they must have been doing something right!
Why dont you all just stop being so negative and let people enjoy it!
sarah, Sydney, Australia
Let people be! Let them pursue their dreams and do what makes them happy!
Come on they sold millions of CD's! Is that not success? At least they are pursuing their dreams and living it not doing nothing! I support them and yes they can sing!
Emmah, Manchester, UK
And now a world tour to add to the seven babies and, oh, only one husband. Is that really what girl power is all about?
JC, London,
Posh is beginning to look like Joan Rivers.
Sean, london, UK
for gods sake why dont people stop knocking the girls, they had enough of that the 1st time round. They are just what the charts need.they are fun, their songs are catchy good pop tunes & let them have the money they earn.at the end of the day the fans/public will show how much the girls are wanted.ive seen them as a five & four piece group(although i do think they are better with geri)i will definately be goin to see them live again.i reckon they will be bigger than take that aswell.c'mon girls,do britain proud.sod the critics(paparazzi)its the fans that count.i love you all.they shoudnt have to give the money they earn to charity either(take that or other groups that are reforming arent)roll on tour time.love shaz.xx
sharon williams, leamington spa,warwickshire, england
They look terrible in that picture. I think this will make them a laughing stock. Where has all the decent music gone?
carla , pembrokeshire,
Great to see. They deserve to make the money, it will be worth the smile and excitement thay will bring to our hearts. This is not greed, it is need. We need a great girl band, fun, mothers...GIRL POWER FOREVER!
Eva Condoleon, Sydney, AUSTRALIA
The Spice Girls prove that bad musical taste is global. That's all.
Angus, Bucharest, Romania
I woke up this morning a cranky pants - very moody and sour. My mood however did a backflip as I heard of the Spice Girls reunion. I literally screamed in delight while in the car while driving. Cannot wait! I don't care if they've done it for the money, for the fun, to get more media attention on their flailing solo careers - i just care that they're back and coming to Sydney! Hell YEAH!
Heidi, Sydney, NSW
I LOVE THE SPICE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!! i listen to them in my car every day and i hope i get tickets to their concert!! i will do anything! going to their concert would be the best day of my life!!! :):)
erica, atlanta, ga
That is the best news I've seen in ages - I can't wait to go and see them. Baby is still my favourite.
Richard Lufkin, London, UK
im glad the spice girls are doing this there was a lot of people like me that never got to see them when they were together.im happy for them they really deserve this, they were a brilliant band then and still are now.so good luck to them. ill be going if i can afford the tickets!last chance to go! good luck to you girls hope it all goes well.im 21 and still a big fan sice it all started .just hope i get to go this time. from kirsty in glastonbury
kirsty, glastonbury, somerset
My sister interestingly pointed out that shouldn't the Spice Girls be called 'Spice Women' now?
Kamal Singhrao, Sonoma, (Brit Expat), California/USA
Ok, so they are not as young as they were, none of us are, but why knock them for doing what they do... ENTERTAINING! For heavens sake I wish everyone would quit dissing them. I'm not their biggest fan by any means, but I certainly wouldn't slate them. They made a hell of a lot of people happy and will do so again. Is that such a bad thing?
Whatever their motives, does it really matter? While there are people out there that would gladly give their right arm for a chance to relive some of their youth and have a darn good time in the process... Girl Power to their collective elbow!
If you don't like them, easy, just don't buy tickets. duh!
Good Luck with the tour Sporty, Ginger, Posh, Baby and Scary. Oh, and thanks for giving us the chance to be ENTERTAINED by you all again.
J Whitefoot, Devon,
Totally agree w Carmen, Nashville, how sad these old birds look, yet never ashamed to come to the plate again & again. Didn't posch look a fool telling a media person she wouldn't ask how much she earned, poor soul least talent but a great $ earner in old golden balls, she really should work hard at keepimg him, my heart goes ou to him coming home to a mindless, obsessive with lust for posessions & media attention individual. We should also observe sadly the amorality personified in this quintet, all have so many skeleton's in the cupboard it makes posh look like a bloated rooster. But the masses will attend the concerts, it reminds me of Kipling, 'that poor fools bandaged finger goes wobbling back to the fire'. May be they will donate 50% of the take to a charity????????????????????
Robert Tod, Singapore, Singapore
Fab - I so hope I get tickets!!!!!!!
Erica Woods, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Englan
Something you should know before being ripped off by these talentless attention seekers. It has been said in recent press articles that although they will be "singing" live, their voices will be processed by computer to ensure the audience hear them singing in tune. How anyone would pay hard earned cash for this gimmick of a reunion is beyond me. Do yourselves a favour and see a proper band playing all the music themselves, there are plenty out there.
Jonathan Davies, Swansea,
Personally, I'm disappointed the Spice Girls didn't feature in yesterday's cabinet reshuffle.
I would add Mogadishu to John Lynch's tour itinerary. The hardest-hearted tribal chief couldn't fail to be moved to lay down arms by their signature heart-rending performance of the inspirational track "Spice up your life".
I'd be amazed if they hadn't won the Nobel peace prize by lunchtime.
Victoria Beckenham, Madrid/LA, USA
Posh looks like the scary spice now, with sporty spice more deserving of looking like the posh one.
gaz, Reading, Berks
what about show in BRAZIL???
Paulo R, Goiania/Goias/, Brazil
Yay for 10 million each for doing this, the only reason they are! Not for their fans.
CJ, New Zealand,
The spice girls are irrelevant and they know it. This is a shameless money-grab by a group who never produced anything musically worthwhile and whatever importance they had as a cultural phenomenon has now passed. If they have kitsch charm for a few nostalgic 20-something women then i trust that it will pass as quickly and as pungently as David Hasselhoff's last single.
Gabriel, Belfast,
Bit long in the tooth - should now be "Spice Crones".
I hope that they've now had singing lessons, unlike the last time that they were treading the boards
E J Murray, Kerry, Ireland
it's absolutely AWESOME!i hope they offer something new to their fans because they are grown ups now.welcome back...
benj, manila, philippines
I live in New Zealand but was born and bred in London. Cant wait to see them in Sydney.Ballot system only hell!
Tracey Morrison, Auckland, New Zealand
I'm sorry, but is it still politically correct to call them Spice 'Girls'? What with 700 more pounds of flesh and 7 babies in tow?
Rotimi, Lagos, Nigeria
Seeing this story amused me greatly; not only because the spice girls are amusing enough in their own right you understand, but because Victoria Beckham will now have to step down from the pedestal of near regality she has created in her own mind and return to the stage to revisit what allegedly put her there (excepting the obvious footballing husband). It is almost cringe worthy to imagine the personna she has since invented for herself acting like a 'spice girl' now. I mean, she doesn't seem the most fun loving of pop artists if we are fair? Could you imagine her singing those songs like she meant it?
Alex, Carlisle, United Kingdom
Of course it's for the money and adulation only. It can't be for the satisfaction of making good music, because a) the music sucks and b) they have no talent.
Carmen, Nashville,
I think they should play Baghdad.
John Lynch, Whittington, Shropshire, UK
wow i thout this would never come but it did im so happy i love the spice girls! boys think im werid cause i like the spice girls but who cares.
matthew, coralsprigs, usa/florida
They were rubbish then, and will no doubt be rubbish now
Stuart Duncan, Singapore,
Why are people so quick to judge? They surely have plently of money already, and yes of course they SHOULD give it all to charity but I don't think anyone is in a position to comment OR judge until they know the facts.
Spice Girls were MASSIVE, who can blame them for wanting to re-live that? People should stop being so negative...
Emily Marsden, Stourbridge,
Good for them, they were fun, I went to see them as a 4 piece. I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would. I'm glad their back. Don't see them if u don't like them, simple as.
pam, Leeds, England
I think that the spice girls' reunion is great and I can't wait until they have a new song in the charts. When I was younger my cousin and I absoloutley loved the spice girls and were really excited when we heard the rumors of a reunion. However, they are only touring in London so we won't be able to see them as we live north of England in Newcastle Upon Tyne! I'm so pleased that they decided to get together!
lots of girl power!
Eleanor Pattinson, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom
if they are doing london..will they be doing cardiff???
i truly hope so!!
katrina, tonypandy, s.wales
WE LOVE SPICE GIRLS
we're so going to the concert lol
from the bromsgrove food tech massive
tom badger, BROMSGROVE, worcs
If this "is not for the money" then perhaps they would be willing to donate ALL of the profits (without inflated expenses) to a charity? Of course it's about teh money - no matter HOW rich they actually are they, like evryone else, want more - they have seen a gravy train and want to leap onto it while they can gain the maximum financial gain. Up to £10 million each? NOBODY needs that much money to live very comfortably! Greed rears it's head once again.
Mark, Leeds,
