Take a trip to New York and see the city from the air

Prize money: £10,000 artist, £5,000 student artist and £2,000 public online vote
The organisers of the Celeste Art Prize 2007 have announced the 30 finalists and 30 student finalists for this year's prize.
The 60 finalists will exhibit at the Old Truman Brewery from May 21 to 27, 2007.
The finalists were selected from a strong selection of 918 submissions, all of which are available to view online .
Entries arrived from all over the UK and from UK artists living and working all over the globe.
Excellence in content, aesthetic, technique and material were sought as the selection criteria from works submitted to the prize plus an awareness of the broader context of painting and the media used, whether in traditional format or testing new media in relation to painting.
The Celeste Art Prize has thanked all the artists who participated and the Goldsmiths MFA Curatorial Programme for their hard work and diligence in selecting the finalists and short listed artists.
After selecting the finalists & short listed artists, the Goldsmiths MFA Curatorial Programme relinquish their role in the selection process and the finalists, during the exhibition, vote for the artist they consider pre-eminent amongst their peers, thus uniquely awarding the prize money themselves.
In addition, this year the Celeste Art Prize have launched a prize for the public online vote. This will run from the April 1 through to May 20. During this period anyone can vote on a one e-mail one-vote basis for the artist of his or her choice.
The winning artist will be awarded their prize at the Award Ceremony in London on Sunday, 27th May at the same time as the £10,000 Artist & £5,000 Student Artist prizes.
Details of how to vote can be found at www.celesteartprize.co.uk/2007/publiconlinevote
Following the London exhibition there will be a further opportunity to view the finalists work in Edinburgh at the galleries of Lyon & Turnbull, Scotland’s leading auctioneers from June 7 to 14, 2007.
There will be a full colour catalogue to accompany the two exhibitions including the work of the 60 finalists and also the 240 short listed artists. It is intended to be a survey of current painting practise in the UK and also contains essays by the Goldsmiths MFA Curatorial Programme. This will be launched at the opening of the Finalists’ Exhibition on Monday, 21 May.
