Star musicians and your favourite Times writers at the Albert Hall

The Drawn Blank Series, a collection of sketches and drawings produced by Bob Dylan while he was on the road between 1989 and 1992, will go on show at the Halcyon Gallery in London next month.
The charcoal paintings reflect the “experience of dislocation and the ceaseless confrontation with new faces and new places” that characterised the singer's life on tour.
A collection of limited edition prints, signed by Dylan, will accompany the exhibition, which is supported by The Times. Critics have compared his work to that of Munch and Matisse and of Max Beckmann and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.

One word I would never associate with Dylan is ego - have a word with yourself!! End of the day, he was asked if they could be displayed in Germany and he agreed. It was very popular and now they're being displayed in the UK where it will be popular once more.
Paul, are you a failed artist... ;-)

Munch came from the Expressionists time period. That name for itself does not need an excuse for if it the style painting captures one or not. Dylan chose it because Expressionism is an artistic style in which the artist attempts to depict not objective reality but rather the subjective emotions.

Is there anyone more over-rated and undeserving of attention as Bob Dylan? His drawings and paintings are amateur and mediocre. He would never get the attention he deserves if he wasn't such a famous dinosaur rock icon. A weird personality with a huge ego surrounded by sycophants.

i love dylan but comparing his art to that of Munch makes me want to scream.
