Considering the British occupancy caused a once harmonious country to be split and consequently cause endless deaths and years of fighting, isnt it time for a formal apology and return of the priceless jewels and artifcats that were robbed from a once resourceful and wealthy nation?
Also, Pakistan is one of the main roots of the extremism so did the British rule consequently create todays main threats to other nations and society?
NP, London, UK
Just wait until America gets out of Iraq and Afghanistan. All those billions of Jihadi mullahs stronger , scarier and more hi-tech would then blithly turn to Kashmir, much to cagrin and scare of India and slight headache of Pakistani authorities, but definately to full fledged glee and support of Pakistani masses, than dear, icouldn'd reciprocate those last lines oy yours; Take it easy.
India simply wont be universally eligible for that "taking it easy" of yours!
Malik, Islamabad, Pakistan
as more and more information and programmes regarding partition and indian independence are shown, it reveals the huge catastrophe to us in its many colours.
i always believed that allowing the partition suited british purposes: the old divide and rule. there is no reason to doubt this after all these years.
the raj in india stayed for over 200 years. one has to ask why they felt they had to leave in such a hurry.
the plans for the british to leave india was hurried, and not thought out, or if u r a conspiracy theorist, did go according to plan of british.
millions dying in india is a reflection of what the british did, but also how intolerance overflowed into bloodshed.
pakistan wiil never get kashmir: they are not even a democracy: which islamic country is?
the moghuls spread islam to what was a largely hindu country: should we be asking all islamic people to leave india as all the islamic people in india were converts to islam during a previous occupation.
Lucky, London, UK
The Turks occupied what is today is Afghanistan in 12th century and mongolian-mughals spread to today's Pakistan and parts of India till the end of 17th century. In essence all the land originally belonged to India and most of the people in pakistan are either forced converted hindus or occupiers from middle east. Pakistan is just a part of India and will be attached to India in 10 years or less. It was created by mistake. Pakistan soon will be divided in three parts. Baloch, Sindh and Punjab. Most of it will be attached to India again. Some of it will go to Russia and some rightfully to India's friend Afghanistan. Take it easy.
