He doesn't want to see the extremes of Islamic law , then why is he opening the door to it, because that is where it will end up and by opening the debate that nobody wanted he will fuel a fire no one will put out.
If the Muslims presently residing in this country want Sharia then go and live in a country that has it. We, the indigenous people of this country do not want Sharia nor shall we put up with it or endorse anyone who tries to undermine the laws we have spent 800 years trying to get right.

Appeasement. It didn't work in the past and it won't work now. To imagine it could displays staggering naivety by Dr Williams, at a time when one of his own senior clerics is receiving death threats from the very zealots he wishes to appease.
