— The first Roman Catholic parish in Britain dedicated exclusively to the Tridentine Rite, the traditional Latin-only liturgy used worldwide by the Church from 1570 to 1962, is expected to open in Liverpool this September. Plans to have a Tridentine-rite parish in Toxteth are currently in the early stages of discussion in the archdiocese.
— Senior imams in Sydney are urging the Australian Government to recognise polygamous marriage, saying that, although illegal, they exist. Keysar Trad, the president of the Islamic Friendship Association of Australia, explained: “If it was a business and the business had four partners, we’d recognise that. But why don’t we recognise it when it comes to consensual relationships among adults?”
— Saudi Arabia and Spain have agreed to hold an interfaith summit for Muslims, Christians and Jews. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the two-day event will take place in Madrid this July.
— The world’s ten leading intellectuals are Muslims, claims a survey published this month in Foreign Policy, the American international affairs magazine. They include Fethullah Gulen, a moderate Islamic scholar, Muhammad Gunus, a Bangladeshi economist and Nobel Peace Prize winner and Youssef al-Qaradawi, Egyptian scholar with close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
— A pocket-sized guidebook to churchgoing has been published this week by the Church of England. What Am I Doing Here? is a collaboration between the cartoonist Dave Walker and Hilary Brand, the author of the Sceptic’s Guide to the Bible. The guide covers what it terms “the wonder and wow of worship”. The journalist Ian Hislop said: “Most books nowadays explain why people don’t go to church anymore. It is good to find one that explains why people still do.”
— Facebook, the social-networking site, has been found an effective tool in recruiting volunteer stewards for the Lambeth Conference. The suggestion came from a nun in the Solomon Islands and was taken up by the Steward Manager Dave Friswell. “It’s helped to draw them together before they’ve even got to work,” he said.

If we Worship nature we see only the reflection of beauty. Trusted interpretation is the key-that is Christ. Man sees many things and every War proves the error of relying on man-made interpretation, however convenient. Hubris is the humanist error that leads to disaster.

San Ying,
I understand your frustration but there is a God. What these churches portray are NOT from God but from their evil-selfish ambitions. Look at all the confusion amongst them. It is Horrid. Everyone fighting for power. You look at the beauty that God has created and will be better off.
althea, sydney-australia,
Of course there is no god! IF there is one, he is not one of those religions make him out to be. Fear will not make man good. If we MUST worship, let us worship Nature and Beauty and practice the arts to make us happy. We don't need religion if we are happy and have no fear. QED
