Sir, The jubilation of ordinary Iraqis at their release from a regime of terror demonstrates the morality of the position adopted by the American and British Governments. Surely there can be no higher moral good than freeing an entire nation from tyranny.

It is time for all those who considered the actions of the coalition to be immoral to accept with humility that they were wrong. Would it not be appropriate for the Archbishop of Canterbury to set such an example, which the Pope could follow?

As a mother and grandmother it is my belief that, whatever the rights and wrongs of the war in Iraq, nothing at all is worth his suffering, nor that of hundreds of children like him in Iraq.
