BALANCING A HEATED DEBATE: Flying Matters is providing an essential service in balancing the debate on aviation (Labour’s flying club lobbies for BAA, News, last week). When environmentalists whip up scare stories or break the law to attract attention to their misplaced causes, Flying Matters redresses the balance. It ensures that the millions who fly for a well-earned holiday, to visit relatives or to do business, have a voice in a debate that has for too long been dominated by a small but vocal minority.
