Elizabeth Bryan
Lee and Theo Richmond write: Your obituary (Feb 26) rightly paid tribute to Elizabeth Bryan’s remarkable professional achievements, but what her friends will remember is the radiance she brought to every aspect of her life: her unquenchable zest, her wry humour, the wisdom and, towards the end, the firmness with which she treated death as another stage in her journey. Thinking of her conjures up a mosaic of images: Libby, in one of her colourful caftans, presiding over a gathering of friends or listening to music in the firelight, or proudly picking the vegetables grown by her husband Ronald.
Howard Davis
Pamela McDowell writes: Howard Davis (obituary, Feb 20) had considerable artistic ability. The Alberni Quartet used to perform regularly for the Mold Music Sociey in the 1980s, and Howard would stay with us after the concert. After several visits he painted a beautiful watercolour of our house, and it isamong my most treasured possessions. He also gave me copies of some of his French and Lake District paintings, which were equally accomplished.
Pearl Witherington
Pearl Cornioley, née Witherington (obituary, February 26), was born on June 24, 1914, and was therefore 93 when she died on February 23, 2008. A daughter survives her. We apologise for our errors.
