Frances Hastings Beauty Therapy, 106 Beckenham Lane, Shortlands, Bromley (020-8466 0101; www.franceshastingsbeautytherapy.co.uk)
Atmosphere and clientele: A white, bright and spotless salon on the London-Kent border catering for everyone from Bromley yummy mummies to beauty-conscious teens. There’s also a range of treatments designed especially for men.
Treatments: Frances Hastings Beauty Therapy offers everything from St Tropez fake tan and massage to red-vein removal and Botox (the latter two carried out by qualified nurses). Our spy had an Advanced Facial using Dermalogica products (£60 for a 90-minute treatment) to combat congested skin. As well as manual techniques, the therapist used a galvanic and high-frequency machine to enhance product absorption and painlessly aid decongestion.
Staff: Frances, who performed the facial, has 42 years’ experience as a beauty therapist – and it shows. Her customer service, the treatment itself, and the emphasis she places on client skincare education are all utterly exemplary.
Highs: The cherry-stone thermal pillow placed on the spy’s feet to keep them warm during the treatment, and the complementary back massage afterwards.
Lows: None.
Marks out of five: Five.

I moved to Kent recently and sorry to say I do not agree with the reviews relating to the customer care comments. I found the Saturday receptionist to be rather abrupt and indignant on 2 separate occasions.
The first time I visited the salon mid week I was given a 10 per cent discount on 4 dermalogica products but during another visit I was told bluntly that the offer did not include any of the smaller sized items.
It is highly unlikely I will be returning to this salon to purchase anymore products or try any treatments.
Hilary, Kent, UK
Frances is professional, competent, customer focussed, and friendly. She has a great team. Above all, visiting her salon is never an intimidating experience. A well deserved review.
Lesley Gardner, Bromley,
I have been one of Frances' clients for around 3 years having passed the salon in the car when visiting my inlaws. I don't even live in Kent (Essex - an hours drive away) but make sure I go there at least once a month and wish I was able to go more often. Fantastic therapist and lovely salon and staff.
Jenny Doyle, Buckhurst Hill, Essex
I thoroughyl agree with this reveiw too. Frances is the ultimate professional with a fantastic approach to customer care and a first class beauty service all round.
Lulu - Bromley
Lulu Pearce, Bromley,
I have been one of France's clients for more years than I care to mention. She is a fantastic therapist and runs a great salon where the client is made to feel really valued.

I agree with this review also. I moved to Bromley 3 years ago and have been using Frances Hastings ever since. Staff are always extremely friendly and very professional.
Jo Gibson, Bromley,
Thoroughly agree with this review, I have been to many beauty salons around the area and Frances Hasting is tops, great service all around, with very friendly staff.
