The best SME to work for in 2007, P3 has built on its success in the past year. Although no longer No 1 overall, it scoops our special award for employee wellbeing. It is not hard to see why staff are so proud to work here, earning the charity a 92% positive score, one of 34 top 10 results in our 66-question staff survey.
P3 offers people routes out of social exclusion and homelessness, and knows how to support its staff too. They feel it makes a positive difference to the world (89%) and that it is run on sound principles (89%).
Such a consistent performance is quite a feat as P3 recently merged with Project 2041, another charity that helps people with social disadvantages.
It took the opportunity to ask everyone about their pay and benefits, resulting in increases in both holiday and salary. The restructuring resulted in employees saying that they would strongly recommend working for the organisation, giving a positive score of 91% for this question.
Staff give P3 a top 10 score of 83% when asked if they are happy with their pay and benefits, and earn the charity an overall rank of seventh for the fair deal factor (81%).
People feel the job is good for their own personal growth (88%). Another impressive score of 89% is bettered by just one other company when staff are asked if they find their training of great personal benefit.
New starters take part in a four-day induction programme that also offers an opportunity to meet the senior management team including chief executive Martin Kinsella, who is an inspiration to his staff (85%).
Even if they were offered a job elsewhere, staff say they would not resign tomorrow to take it up (84%).
