The Drivers Jonas Café, 6 Grosvenor Street, London W1
Atmosphere: The DJ café is at the Drivers’ Jonas head office in Mayfair is run by catering manager Paula and her team who provide staff with all everything from free fair-trade coffee to five course lunches in the dining room. The café is open early for breakfast rolls, muesli, tea and coffee. It's a great excuse to meet colleagues, chat and hold informal meetings - and there’s internet and TV too. Most appealing is the subsidised prices – so other Mayfair cafes are visited through choice and not necessity.
Worth queuing for: The daily homemade soups are great at £1.50 and include bread rolls. There’s always a stampede for the Trinidad curry soup and staff follow the gorgeous food smells that waft through the office. The Moroccan cous cous at £1.85 is good choice. There’s also free fruit for all staff: great for mid morning snacks.
Straight in the (recycle) bin: Polystyrene cups – literally. Also I avoid volunteering for the morning tea run.
What this place really needs is: Longer summers. During summer, the 6th floor roof terrace accommodates up to 150 guests for barbeques and drinks. The catering team cooks up some amazing barbeque options and we love the teriyaki salmon, mini burgers and peri peri chicken. It’s worth getting on the guest list for a summer event (or befriending the chef!)
Tried and tested: Bacon and egg sandwiches on a Friday (hangover) morning – always popular.

I once ran a wine tasting event and we tasted wines from around the world - the Catering team at DJ did some incredible dishes from all around the world to match - all mini. We had the infamous mini burgers for USA, mini hot dogs, mini shepherd's pies, risotto balls, mini samosas and all sorts of other things - it was delicious!
Lil, London,
I love the soup menu - and all made fresh. Healthy with the taste of home cooking.
