Success depends on people’s appetite

The virtual CV is interesting, but like all technological innovations, everything depends on the appetite of people to use them, especially in the executive recruitment market. Will CEOs and CFOs – generally regarded as passive and demanding by recruiters – spend time putting together a visual CV? Of course, the next generation may not think twice about it.

The idea of using the virtual CV as a business card as well is intriguing. Just attaching it to the bottom of your e-mail is like job seeking without actually job seeking. That rather fits with my view of the recruitment market. I always think that it’s like a day at the seaside. Everyone is there on the beach, but some never leave their deckchairs, others paddle by the shore and then there are those who are never out of the water.
