A service of remembrance and thanksgiving for the life and work of Sir Robert Megarry was held yesterday in Lincoln’s Inn Chapel. The Very Rev Derek Watson, preacher to Lincoln’s Inn, officiated.

Mr Roy Amlot, QC, treasurer, read the lesson.

Ms Jacquetta Megarry, daughter, read Success by Bessie Stanley and Professor Bryan A. Garner read an extract from A New Miscellany-at-Law by Sir Robert.

Sir Martin Nourse gave an address.

During the service Ms Susan Anderson, mezzo-soprano, sang Dido’s Lament from Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell.
