Lady Barbirolli

Princess Alexandra was represented by Mr Robert Newell at a memorial service for Lady Barbirolli, held on Thursday at St Marylebone Parish Church.

The Rev Canon Christopher Gower, rector, officiated.

Mr David Mellor, QC, read a 17th-century prayer and Dame Janet Baker read The Glory of the Garden by Rudyard Kipling.

During the service Miss Holly Fawcett played the first movement of Mozart's Oboe Concerto, accompanied by members of the Barbirolli Quartet.
