The Lord Lieutenant for Gloucestershire attended a service of thanksgiving for the life of Sir Anthony Kershaw held on Friday, July 18, at the Church of St Michael and All Angels, Badminton, Gloucestershire. Canon Christopher Mulholland officiated and pronounced the blessing.
Mr George Kershaw, son, read a hunting poem, Mr Harry Kershaw, son, read an extract from King Henry V by William Shakespeare, Mrs Carolyn Nicolle, daughter, read A Countryman’s Prayer and Ms Cecilia Kershaw, daughter, read an extract from the works of Albert Schweitzer.
Sir Philip Goodhart paid tribute.
The Leader of the Opposition was represented by Lord Cope of Berkeley.
During the service the Westonbirt Singers performed If You Love Me by Thomas Tallis. The Last Post was sounded by Sergeant Major Webb of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars.
