The Earl of Wessex this morning departed the United Kingdom for Normandy, France.

His Royal Highness later attended a Reception at Esquay Notre Dame Mairie given by the Mayor of Esquay Notre Dame for representatives of the Association Odon Cote 112 and the Mayors of the local communes.

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Honorary Colonel, Royal Wessex Yeomanry, later took the salute at the 43rd Wessex Division’s Veterans Parade at Hill 112.

His Royal Highness, Royal Honorary Colonel, Royal Wessex Yeomanry, this afternoon attended a Service at the Cote 112 Memorial to commemorate those who fell in the Battle for Hill 112 on 12th July, 1944.

The Earl of Wessex subsequently attended the Vin d’Honneur and presentation of Commemorative Badges at Esquay Notre Dame.

His Royal Highness later arrived in the United Kingdom from France.

Brigadier John Smedley was in attendance.
