Honeymoons can last longer than lampshades and fish slices. Do they not have a wedding list? You could consult the godson’s mother. I would be inclined to bow to modern fashion, and do what the boy asks. Better a memorable fortnight in the Maldives (if that is not an oxymoron), than unused book-ends or table mats. When in doubt, I usually settle for a beautifully bound Shakespeare or Horace. PH
