Even before the show opened, Volkswagen enthralled motoring journalists with the unveiling of its new Scirocco. Revived after 16 years out of production it's a whole new car, though built on Golf underpinnings. It's expected to go on sale this autumn powered by a 200bhp motor priced at about £20,000. Morgan's Life Car is a design exercise to show that the sports car company most often associated with picnic hampers and deerstalker hats is forward-looking and innovative. The idea is that it will be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell and feature regenerative braking though, to be honest, if it ever goes into production we'll eat our deerstalkers.
