England English-resident students studying in England: tuition fees of up to £3,225 in 2009-10. Students entitled to means-tested grant of up to £2,906 and a student loan of up to £3,673 for living at home, and £4,745 for those outside London living away from home. Students in London not living at home can expect a loan of £6,643. English students studying outside England: pay fees applicable at university of their choice. Scotland Scottish-resident students studying in Scotland: no tuition fees. Can apply for a young student bursary of up to £2,575 depending on family income. Student loan also available. Scottish students outside Scotland: pay fees applicable at their university of choice. Young and mature students can apply for a students’ outside Scotland bursary of up to £2,095 in 2008-9. Wales Welsh-resident students studying in Wales: tuition fees of up to £3,225 (in 2009) offset by a non-means-tested, non-repayable fee grant of up to £1,940. Student loan also available. Welsh students outside Wales: pay fees applicable at their university of choice. May be eligible for a means-tested, non-repayable assembly learning grant of up to £2,906. English, Scottish and Northern Irish students in Wales: tuition fees of up to £3,225. Northern Ireland Northern Irish-resident students studying in Northern Ireland: tuition fees of up to £3,225. Entitled to means-tested grant of up to £3,406 and a maintenance loan.
