Kelly Turkeys The Kelly family has done much to restore the culinary reputation of the turkey, dismissed for so long as stringy and bland. This year, Paul Kelly has reintroduced his birds to the wild. They forage in bluebell woods by day and roost in trees at night, protected from predators by a pair of collie dogs. The result is the sort of gamey, dense-fleshed, flavoursome bird that the Pilgrim fathers would probably have recognised. Last orders Dec 18; 01245 223581, www.kelly-turkeys.com.
Seldom Seen Farm This rural Leicestershire farm specialises in free-range geese – Rick Stein buys his Christmas goose here – and also does a signature three-bird roast (a boned goose, stuffed with a chicken, stuffed with a pheasant, layered with pork and orange). I'm pretty sure you recently printed a recipe for a chocloate nut and fruit Christmas cake , by Eric Lanlard, but I can't find it anywhere - can you help. Thanks
Sue Wayne, Gerrards Cross, Bucks
Dear Lydia Slater
I was very surprised to see that Forman & Field are recommended at least 4 times in your Festive Food Online.
There delivery service is appalling. I placed an order with them on 29/10/07 and am still waiting for my 1st delivery to be made. May I add this is not too my home either - oh no that is prooving just too difficult, but they could deliver to a different address, perhaps my work address. If I am lucky perhaps I will get my delivery before Christmas at this rate! Have you read the latest Which! report on the very same subject. I most definitely agree with them Donald Russell in Scotland is the company to choose for online food.
If they can deliver from the North of Scotland with no problems why can't Forman & Field get their act together especially as they are based in central London.
Best regards
Liz Bell, Sevenoaks,
