Convincingly spicy and zesty, and a welcome change from the ubiquitous elderflower (Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco).

Alibi, £1.65 for 33cl

The world’s first pretox — aka a nutraceutical — but don’t let a little light jargon put you off. It is a citrussy fizzy drink, containing herbal extracts, vitamins and amino acids, that is designed to prepare the body for toxins such as alcohol. I was panel chairwoman at this year’s International Wine Challenge who knocked back a can before each day-long tasting. It certainly didn't do any harm and it may even have done some good (Harvey Nichols, and in London clubs).

Wild Blueberries, £5.90 - £7.90 for 33cl

An oddball Swedish drink made from crushed blueberries and nothing else. It is bone-dry and emphatically not fruity like other juices. Drink it, or, rather, sip it, at room temperature, as you would a red wine. I can’t guarantee you’ll like it, but at least you will feel it is doing you good (Partridges, 020 7730 0651; Nordic Bakery, 020 3230 1077; Earth Natural Foods, 020 7482 2211; Verde & Co, 020 7247 1924; Flaneur Food Hall, 020 7404 4422).
