Justin Timberlake will be the face of Givenchy’s new men's fragrance, the French fashion brand announced yesterday.
Timberlake, the hugely successful pop singer who has won multiple awards including an Emmy and multiple Grammys and MTV Music Awards will join actress Liv Tyler as the male face of Givenchy.
"Beyond his huge celebrity appeal, we have chosen Justin Timberlake because he is a world recognized trendsetter who redefines modern elegance," said Alain Lorenzo, President and CEO of Parfums Givenchy.
Created by Hubert de Givenchy who opened his first couture house in Paris in the Fifties, Givenchy is a major fashion, perfumes and cosmetics company.
Lorenzo declined to give details of the deal, but rumours put the figure in the millions. Angelina Jolie was reported to have earned $12 million (just over £6 million) with clothing label St. John, and Gwyneth Paltrow is paid $3 million (£1.5 million) per year by Estée Lauder. Timberlake made at least $20 million (£10 million) last year, placing him 34th on Forbes' list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities.
The first perfume will be unveiled in June this year and will be launched in two stages, beginning in Autumn, with a worldwide roll out across 2009.
