It’s the last day of the men’s shows, but that doesn't mean the pace has lessened; it's day four and there are more trends to be had - platform shoes, skirt shorts, bright orange macs with only the weather in the fashion pack's way. The news has warned of the excessive heat - not good news for those queuing.
Trends on the catwalk
Marni: shorts that looked like skirts, and billowing voluminous shirts.
Fendi: the biggest story so far – shoes with wedges, for men. Not content with the Cuban heel, Silvia Fendi wanted to add something feminine to the boys’ shoes. Voila la platform wedge.
Calvin Klein: one word neon. Bright, bold, and requiring sunglasses.
Ermenegildo Zegna: classic tailoring in classic neutral summer shades – oh and two pink suits.
Belstaff: Lots of shiny patent macs and plenty of colour to end Milan men’s fashion week.
Trends off the catwalk
THE GOOD
Bow ties – and not a dinner jacket in sight. A little ridiculous but harmless. This is men’s fashion week, let them have their fun.
THE BAD
Orange espadrilles – keep them to the beach love.
THE UGLY
Is a Versace Lamborghini too much? Possibly, but it might just have been the best looking fashion accessory of the week.
People
Armani pulled the big shots in again – this time for his mainline collection, Giorgio Armani. Clive Owen and Adrien Brody graced the front row. Full marks for the biggest A list attendees.

This is a good thing. i am a straight and i love shoes. Men should have a wider range of footwear. Not like we have now where everything is the same style just in different colors. boring. I say bring on the heels and the boots.
Men need to stop being so defensive when it comes to their sexuality

It's still years behind and conceptually miles away from the stilettos David Bowie wore I think it was at Bafta award night

Females wear heels in order to raise their buttocks to within the peripheral vision of males, now that homo sapiens walk on 2 feet rather than four. I do not think that there is a critical mass of desperate male dwarfs who would desire to walk 4 inches taller. The concept is a bad fashion idea.

Fashion is for people with no brain, who need to be told what to wear, by so-called 'fashion experts'.
