Crouch End is a crossroad of culture for artists, actors, authors and musicians, inspired by cherished venues such as writers’ haunt Banner’s bar, guitar haven Rock Around the Clock and the famous King’s Head pub on Crouch Hill. We reveal why this vibrant area has culture written all over it and how its abundance of quirky shops, cafes and bars have fuelled local creativity and made this area one of the capital’s most inspiring places to live.

I was born in Crouch End in 1941 and lived there until I married in 1973.
Pre-war Crouch End was the second highest rated borough in London. From the mid 70's to early nineties CE became a rather sad place, but I'm delighted to see that today it's back to its thriving best. Happy memories!
