“Sox is a little princess. She totters around our flat as though she owns it, and she’s just letting my partner Grant and me live there. We had never thought about getting a cat until we bought our own home, and then it seemed the right thing to do.

Still, we took her on a trial basis, making sure that one of my family was prepared to house her if we decided that cat owning was not for us. Within a couple of weeks, we were smitten, and now we couldn’t imagine not having her around.

I suppose we’ve spoilt her from the start, she’s fed fresh prawns, chicken and lobster. She’s quite a fussy madam. I do spend a lot on her accessories too, she has a Gucci cat collar and her food bowl was from a designer store.

We get a lot of enjoyment and love from her; she’s always up to mischief and has been known to jump in the bath with me even though cats are supposed to dislike water.

When we first brought her home we tried to get her to sleep in her own basket, but she cried so much I took her into my side of the bed and now that’s where she sleeps every night. She really is mistress of this house.”
