Joanna Page is a Welsh actress best known for her role as Stacey in the BBC3 comedy Gavin & Stacey. The show, which later moved to BBC2, won two awards at the 2008 Baftas.

Page, 31, graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1998. She played the naked body double with Martin Freeman from The Office in the film Love Actually. She is now starring in Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig at the Trafalgar Studios theatre in London.

She lives with her actor husband James Thornton in Dulwich, south London.

How much money do you have in your wallet?

I have £20 in notes and about £20 worth of change. After about a month, I take the coins to the bank for notes. I once took about £30 worth.

Do you have any credit cards?

I have a HSBC debit and Mastercard. I don’t have store cards or anything like that. I usually put larger purchases on the credit card and I pay it off in full at the end of the month. I hate the idea of paying interest on a credit card.

Are you a saver or a spender?

On the whole, I think I’m a saver. I have cash Isas into which I put the maximum each year, as well as a few easy access savings accounts, also with HSBC.

My husband and I have joint bank accounts. Every month, he takes a chunk from the current account and places it into our savings. I have no idea how much we have in there — I just let him deal with it.

Money is okay for us at the moment. As an actress I have no idea when I’ll end up without work, but because I’m currently in the theatre and I know I have a job coming up in October — the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special — I’m pretty relaxed. We set aside 30% of any income we make straight into the savings to pay for tax. We then put aside about another 20% or more into general savings.
