My wife recently purchased tickets for a Madonna concert using a credit card through a ticket company called sosmasterticket. She has since found out that sosmasterticket is a fraud and have no chance of getting her money back (£300) is there any way she can recover the money through her credit card which she has subsequently cancelled?

Because your wife bought the tickets using a credit card, she should certainly be able to get her money back from the credit card provider. This is because Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act provides protection for faulty goods or services as long as you used the card to pay for at least £100 of the total cost of the purchase. Simply advise your wife to contact the credit card provider and make a claim. There are some exceptions, including travel agents, but I’m fairly certain ticket agents are covered.
