I am an American citizen and live in Florida. I am not sure if Experian and Equifax report scores in the UK as they do here in the USA, but I have an over-700 beacon score with both reporting agencies. Can I use my scores here in USA to borrow in the UK to purchase a property as well as get credit cards from the banks?

Things are slightly different here. UK lenders calculate their own scores rather than using one or two centralised scoring models like vantagescore or fico in the US. As a result, I’m afraid you can’t import your credit score into the UK. But, if you are planning to apply for credit here, it might be worth you printing out a copy of your US credit report and score and showing it to any UK lender your apply to, to help them establish your financial credentials. I’m not clear whether you ask these questions because you’re planning to stay in the UK for a period of time or whether you are looking to obtain credit in the UK from Florida. In view of legal barriers, including data protection laws, I suspect you’d find that the latter scenario would bear little fruit.
