Why don't the trendy folk move into Rhyl, the beach is fantastic and there is a harbour for the boating types, it is much closer to the Manchester footballer belt and most of the locals speak english not welsh. The fish and chip shops are everywhere, there is a new Wilkinsons. M&S, Woolworths, Morrisons, Sainsbury's etc. have been there for years, what more could anyone want and the average price of the property, probably about £100K. Julian, open up your eyes, no need to go anywhere near Scotland, stick with Sunny Rhyl, you will not be disappointed!!!

Who exactly predicted a collapse? I am always confused when people quote this. We live on an over crowded island, unless the economy crashes the likely hood of a collapse is very slim indeed. Property tends to go up NOT down. Good news for my house on the other side of the headland.

Well you need to be able to speak fluent Welsh for Starters. Its actually people like you Julian who want to move to the area that is making the prices for the locals go up. So i would head for scotland in your own castle. theres not enough jobs for locals as it is....
