"You are before the court on a legitimate indictment, properly prosecuted and to which you have entered pleas of guilty."
He added: "I’ve come to the conclusion that the public interest is best served by imposing on you a lengthy period of supervision."
He said a three-year community rehabilitation order was the maximum order of its kind he could impose.
"You will be supervised by the Probation Service," added the judge. "You must co-operate with them."
He made no orders for compensation and said the agencies which were victims of Carr’s deceit were free to take legal action if they wished to. The court heard that Carr’s fraudulent benefits claims amounted to £3,808.
One of the jobs was as a classroom assistant at St Andrew's Primary School in Soham, Cambridgeshire, where Huntley's victims, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, were pupils.
Huntley was given two life sentences for murdering 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman at the house he shared with Carr in Soham, Cambridgeshire.
Carr, currently at Foston Hall prison near Derby, will be smuggled out of jail under a shroud of secrecy.
Her ultimate destination is unknown, but she wants to live as close as possible to her family in Lincolnshire.
Last week, the Australian Government denied the existence of any plan to move Carr to a new life there.
It issued a public statement following speculation that police, prison and probation officials had tried to persuade Carr to leave the UK and adopt a secret identity in Australia.
If Carr returns to live with her mother in Grimsby it would create a major security headache and would require a continuous police operation to protect her from vigilante attacks.
The operation could involve a 24-hour guard and cost up to £1 million a year. Another option is to place her at a secret address elsewhere in the UK and give her a new identity.
Her lawyers could then apply for a legal ban on publicising her whereabouts until she dies. Such a ban could also cover any children she has.
But with one of the most recognisable faces in Britain, she could be spotted wherever she goes and there are fears that details of her whereabouts would spread quickly through the internet and emails despite such a ban.
