Yes! get rid of bendy buses and get rid of them now. People never pay any money to ride them, the bus drivers don't know how to drive them, they are landmines to cyclists and they take up too much of London's precise street. London is known for black cabbies and double decker buses! Go Boris!
Heidi hudson, London, UK
Active for 30mins - with the London bus jams you wouldn't get far in that time!
Vstclair, London, UK
Paxman is paid to savage politicians so the savaging of Boris was hardly exceptional.
Simon Marshland, Bath, uk
If he has to scrap bendy busses when they are only a few years old, why can't he replace them with standard off the shelf double deckers? The new Routemaster will be a purely cosmetic excercise much like the new Beetle.
How about some genuine innovation such as electric or guided busses?
Luke, London, UK
Suggestion (I don't live in London)
If the intention is to get people to use public transport then Boris should take a VERY CLOSE LOOK AT THE SWEDISH MODEL
You buy a card with credit (which gives a significant discount)
Once used it is "active" for 30mins and can go anywhere: great idea
paul wilcox, berkshire,
You'll regret it, Boris will let you down. Look at all the right wing ranters in the past, look at Bush and Sarkozy, already plumiting in the French ratings and what is he attacking? Working peoples hours and pensions.
Still these pages will make great reading in about 18 months.

Stop passengers drinking on underground trains, more Police on stations and trains, less red tape.
John, London,
Scrap bendy buses. They:
1. Cause congestion by blocking the roads
2. Lose money by non-paying passengers getting on the rear doors
3. Are fundamentally illogical: take up twice the road space in length for the same number of people than a RouteMaster; insane
Bring back the RM: jump on and off.
Laura Roberts, London, UK
Nico's straw poll was well mixed. I voted for Paddick but am praying that Boris has a crack at getting more value for money instead of 70 advisers, or spending £36m on the tram fiasco. How many free bicycles a la Parisienne would that wedge have bought??? BTW - bendy buses = mobile social housing???
Tim, Ealing, UK
I am a young londoner, (17) and had no say in who should be mayor. I certainly wouldnt have voted Boris!! you dont know what you have until its gone. I LOVE U KEN!!!
Anisa, Hackney, England
We are doomed now that Johnson is in charge. Sedgewick - get an Oyster card its cheaper than paying cash.
Bendy Buses are safer and more environmentially friendly than the Routemaster buses.
So what, if the congestion charge is £8.00, do you really need to drive in London - no.
Viva Ken
J, London, UK
Boris will prove that there is life before death.
Brian Christley, Abergele , UK
The video is an excuse to video a Citaro Artic on the 73, he is actually a bus spotter. Anyway I voted Boris because we need change.
luke, brixton hill,
Ken achieved two things in power:
1 An £8 a day charge to drive into your own city which hits the poor hardest
2 Officially the most expensive public transport in Europe (£4 for a single stop on the tube) which hits the poor hardest.
Good riddance Red Ken
sedgwick, London, UK
Well done london, you are now free of that corrupt trotskyite livingston, and already we have boris calling the useless Ian blair to book. You should be grateful. I would have thought cutting crime was more important to the electorate than having more empty bendy buses.
clive lowe, stockport, uk
Ro, Cheltenham - maybe you had to have lived under Ken's regime to understand why I (and 1.2 Million other Londoners) decided that being rubbished by the unelected Paxman was not a reason to dismiss Boris. You're right though, interesting times ahead.
Stephen, London, England
I'm bored of people saying Boris is "a joke" - just because he has a rather bumbling way of communicating. I find it refreshing to hear a politician making a very valid speech but still lacing it with humour and jokes. Self-deprecation is something more politicians could portray.
Steve, Reigate, England
John from London doesn't believe that comments from those outside London are valid. Fine. I trust then that John had and has no opinion to offer on fox hunting, closure of rural post offices or the destruction of rural pubs because of the smoking ban. How about Iraq John? Been to Basra lately?
Adrian, Wantage, England
To Ro Cheltenham - Since when did being good at shouting down Jeremy Paxman equate with being an effective anything? I must have missed that report but then some of us can make our own minds up without Mr Paxmans 'help'.
Philip Lewis, Colwyn Bay, Wales
He's got to be better than Ken who's treated County Hall as his own private fiefdom and trampled over the rights and wishes of Londoners that don't fit his own Constituency. This was a vote against Ken who's arrogance consumed his last term. There really ought to be a two term limit for Mayors.
Paul, London, UK
It's difficult to believe London has chosen this guy, but there you have it. The high turnout in the SUV-driving suburbs seems to have swung it? Ken's done a great deal for Londoners and I, for one, am grateful. London is undoubtedly a better place after his 8 year tenure. Good luck Boris...
Tommy Tucker, London,
I dont believe that the comments from those outside of London are valid. Do they really think that Londoners are that lightweight that they voted for the image rather than for the hoped changes and policy. These things matter to Londoners.
John, LONDON,
I do hope Boris remembers the fact that only a 3.5% swing of the votes could have brought Ken back into power. Some of the reasons of Ken's popularity are his knack for pushing ideas such as the Thames Gateway Bridge and the Crossrail link.
Vejain, London, UK
It's frightening how many ignorant and irresponsible citizens we have in London. The video clip statements bear this out: "I don't know what his policies are", "He's a nice man", "Anyone could do a better job than Ken". The briefest amount of research makes a nonsense of all these statements. Shame.
KarenS, London, UK
My dog could do a better job than Ken. His original free travel policy was great but illegal. Since then - NOTHING.
pEDRO, Granada, Spain
When I saw the savaging Paxman gave him on Newsnight I thought 'this clown has no idea, he doesn't stand a chance.' Obviously the majority of voters in London don't watch Newsnight. Interesting times are ahead.
Ro, Cheltenham,
