Peter Mandelson moves from the European Union where he was Trade Commissioner to become Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, with a seat in the House of Lords. This will be his third time in Cabinet, having left twice before under a cloud after spells as Secretary of State for Trade and Industry and Northern Ireland Secretary. He last sat in Cabinet in 2001.
Margaret Beckett will make a return to Cabinet as the Housing Minister taking over from Caroline Flint.
Nick Brown, one of Gordon Brown’s closest political allies and currently Deputy Chief Whip will take over from Geoff Hoon as Chief Whip.
Liam Byrne, immigration minister will become Brown's enforcer as Cabinet Office Minister helping to co-ordinate between departments and make sure central policy is carried out.
Caroline Flint, will move from Housing to Europe Minister with a seat in Cabinet.
Tony McNulty, moves from Home Office to Minister for Employment, Work and Pensions and Minister for London.
Backbencher Jon Cruddas, who did well in last year's deputy leadership race are believed to be in line for promotions.
Lord Drayson returns from a year off motor racing to be Science Minister.

John Hutton moves from his role as Business Secretary to Defence, he has previously served as Work and Pensions Secretary.
Geoff Hoon, steps down as Chief Whip to become Transport Secretary – the position left vacant by Ruth Kelly whose decision to resign from Cabinet sparked the reshuffle.
