Blair is a showman and these crisis situations appeal to his theatrical side. The full results of his tenure in office are yet to be revealed. Under his premiership agrigulture has nearly been destroyed, a significant number of children are leaving school nearly illiterate, the national health service, in spite of the vast sums of money thrown at it, is not up to standard, there is a whole sub culture of people who are not in regular employment but live on welfare from generation to generation, drugs, etc, are endemic in vitually all of our cities and this culture is not subject to any rules of living whilst ordinary citizens and medium and small sized firms (sitting ducks) have their feet nailed to the ground with a mass of legislation. I could go on but it seems to me most politicians here and in maybe in the USA are in it for their own glorification and they do what they do to enhance their own images

Extreamly well said, i thought we had more class, i dont think people think at all befor they make extream and sweeping statements ,especially some comics.
Thank you for reminding us what a decent and genuine human being he is, sometimes it takes an outsider looking in . . .

WOW!
Are you guys tough on your Prime Minister or WHAT? I live in the United States - look who WE have to live with in the White House . . .you don't know how good you had it.
The day the planes hit the Twin Towers I could NOT believe our so called President was no where to be seen! I tuned into BBC and found more comfort and strength from PM Tony Blair than I could ever could (or would) from our "leader". I will never forget Tony Blair's stepping up and taking charge - thank you Mr. Blair from the bottom of my heart.
I know, I don't live in your country and I'm sure there are plenty of things the critics could tell me about "the Blair Years". All I see is man who tried his best and maybe didn't always succeed, but his heart was in the right place. I am stunned at the cruelty of the comments made by the British press -both about Mr. Blair and his wife. Funny, I thought the British had more class . . .
