The man, the films, those blondes. Free DVD collection starting this Sunday
The inquest into a man’s apparent suicide, which was broadcast live on the internet, will open today.
The body of Kevin Whitrick was found at his home in Telford, Shropshire, on March 21 after a chat room user contacted police to report that the father-of-two had “self-harmed” while online.
Police found the 42-year-old, from the Wellington area of the town, hanged.
Users of the chat room said that he had knocked a hole in his ceiling, attached a rope to an exposed joist and tied it around his neck, then stepped off a chair.
Mr Whitrick, who had 12-year-old twins, had a serious car accident in July 2006 and had never returned to full health, according to his family.
The hearing will be held at Telford Coroner’s Court.

I don't go into chat rooms. Never have, never will. People can be too despicable online, as this sorry case shows.

i think its is sad that people in a chat room were telling the man to get on and do it at the end of the day he is a father of 2 kids and they people that told him to do it should have the pcs cpu banned from the internet what is this world coming to if its not sat to sit and talk to people around th world with losers pushing someone to the point that they would want to take there life iv had it were i have been driven from chat room as of the things people were saying about myself and i understand how bad it can get i have even thought about taking my life because of an internet user that was just being cruel about my size and believe me the only reason im still here today is the fact i have a child and i love him to bits but how can someone get away with doing this and nothing being done about it by the chatroom owners i think people that cause this should be banned from the internet for life
